Makerere Institute for Social Development (MISD) was established in 1995 with a vision to provide high-quality education in Uganda and beyond. Over the years, MISD has grown into a premier institution recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and professional training.
From its humble beginnings, MISD started with a few diploma and certificate programs, focusing on fields such as Business Administration and Social Work. With continuous improvements and expansion, the institute has introduced more programs in diverse fields, including Information Technology, Public Administration, and Journalism.
Through partnerships with industry leaders and academia, MISD has evolved into a dynamic learning institution. The institute’s dedication to research, innovation, and student-centered learning has positioned it as a key player in Uganda’s higher education sector.
